Radiation Zone & Geiger Counters | Read The Air Before It Kills You
Turn parts of your map into lethal radiation that players only see through the Geiger counter in their hands. A live device screen, a draining battery, layered hazmat and vehicle protection, cure and immunity items, and a dose that keeps counting even when a modded client tries to block it, so nobody walks through clean. Contamination is saved per player and survives relog.

Overview
On a quiet Geiger counter you are fine. The moment it starts clicking you are already taking damage. Radiation Zone turns parts of your map into an invisible threat players read through the device in their hands, deciding how close they dare get to the source.
What to expect
- Zones as polygons, boxes or spheres, flat or scaling toward the source
- The Geiger counter is a real device with a live screen and a graph
- Its clicking quickens as the dose climbs
- A battery drains while the counter runs and needs recharging
- Hazmat suits, masks and vehicles cut the dose by amounts you tune
- Cure items pull the dose back down, iodine grants a protection window
- Effects escalate: screen distortion, ramping audio, health drain
- The dose is forced on the server, so modded clients cannot walk through clean
- Contamination is saved per player and survives relog
- 0.00ms idle outside the hot zones
Works on ESX, QBCore and QBox.
Key Features
Zones Your Way
Draw radiation areas as polygons, boxes or spheres. A dynamic zone scales the dose with distance from the source, with a per-zone peak, force and falloff. A static zone holds the whole area at one flat, lethal level.
Live Geiger Screen
The Geiger counter is a usable device with a working screen on the casing. It shows real-time contamination and whether the player is safe, at warning or in danger, and the clicking quickens as the dose climbs. The screen also runs a live scrolling graph with peak, minimum and average readings.

Draggable, Resizable Overlay
The on-screen reading can be moved and scaled to taste. Its place and scale save per player, with /movegeiger to position it and /resetgeigerpos to reset it.

Battery To Keep Charged
The counter runs on a battery that drains while it is on and warns the player when the charge gets low. Battery items recharge it, and a recharge can never be double-counted. In multi-device mode each counter model carries its own battery capacity and drain rate.
Device Models & Themes
Run a single counter or a full list, each its own inventory item with its own device model and colour theme. A custom Geiger prop and inventory images ship with the script.

Layered Clothing Protection
Hazmat suits and anti-radiation gas masks cut the incoming dose by a set percentage, configured per look for male and female. Ships with a full anti-rad mask and suit list ready to use.

Suit Wear Awareness
With ml_clothing wear, a worn-out suit or mask stops protecting once it is broken. Durability actually matters. Toggle the behaviour with a single config flag.
Vehicle Protection
Vehicles shield whoever is inside by class, with a default reduction you tune in config. Excluded classes such as bikes and boats give no cover.

Cure & Immunity Items
Cure items pull accumulated radiation back down on use, with a configurable removal amount and animation. Iodine-style immunity items, off by default, work ahead of time and grant a window of protection before a player enters a zone.

Escalating Effects
Rising radiation drives a staged curve of screen distortion and tiered counter audio while it drains health on a damage table you tune by level. The shipped effect names are checked against the game's official effects list.

Per-Player Persistence
Each player's contamination is saved on disconnect, periodically and on resource stop, with optional auto-decay below a safe threshold after a grace period. A relog never resets the dose.
Reads Into Your HUD
Any player's live radiation level is there for your HUD or admin tools to read, while only the resources you trust can actually change it.
Retro Terminal Read-Out
Switch the device to a vintage terminal mode that boots through a kernel and memory check, then holds a green-phosphor read-out of the live dose with the highest reading it has recorded so far. A flat real-time gauge and a nostalgic fallout-shelter screen ship side by side, pick the look that fits your map.

Health System Hand-Off
An optional, auto-detecting hand-off to ml_healthsystem turns radiation into a disease with fever, stumbling and a final collapse, and it can hand damage and visuals to the disease engine with two config flags.
Zone Entry Warnings
Step into a hot area and the player gets a clear on-screen warning that they are entering contaminated ground, with a matching all-clear when they leave. You decide whether these alerts show at all and how long each one stays up.
Optional Multichar Gate
An opt-in start gate stops radiation from contaminating players during character select and spawn cinematics. Off by default. It works on vanilla QBox, QBCore, ESX and Standalone with no extra setup.
Logs For Your Staff
Drop in a webhook and every cure or immunity use lands in your Discord with the player and the dose change. Staff spot abuse without being online.
Open Hooks Included
Unencrypted hook files let you block a cure in jail, veto the device during a cutscene, or run your own code after each action, without touching locked files.
